Surviving the quilling stage 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Teagan is having a bad time with her quilling. She is 11 weeks old today and has been very irritable and grumpy for the past 2 weeks. I give her Aveeno baths twice a week and a few mealies if she allows me to pet or hold her with limited huffiness. Any other suggestions that have worked for you on how to get through this difficult phase?

Erin.. you might want to try not to give her so many baths. It might dry her out MORE. You could try using some of the vitamin E gel caps.. just poke a hole in one end and squeeze it between the quills.

Other than that.. all I can say is be patient!

yeah you might be bathing too much. try only bathing 3 times a month. when i had three babies quilling i just gave them space and didnt hold them as much (i felt like by being held they were hurting) and give them treats to try to make up for their being uncomfortable

Re:Surviving the quilling stage 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I would just suggest giving her time. You can still take her out but don't try overly holding or petting her. Just let her sit out on your lap or the floor.

I have 2 babies going through that right now and it's NO picnic for me. The one just started and has become a little huffy but the other has been quilling since we got her and HATES being touched or picked up so we'll bring her out but just let her do her own thing. Usually she'll just sit on the bed with us and explore.

Note that you just replied to a topic that's nearly 2 months old. She's probably been out of quilling for a long time now.

You can lead a hedgehog to prune juice, but you can’t make him drink it.
Nor would you want to.

Well, personally, I appreciate it!

The topic may be 2 months old, but *I* am new here, and also trying to survive quilling!

Thanks!
