Worried about going on holiday, help! 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Hey everyone, ive posted quite a few times before about my hedgie guinness. Im off on holiday for 2 weeks in may and im unsure what is gonna be the best thing to do with my little angel guinness. Shes not ya regular hedgie she dont like being held and likes to do her own thing if she gets stressed she dose bite her leg till it gets very very sore and raw. I have got no no her strange little ways and no how to be with her to avoid this situation in most casses. Im really worried about leaving her when i go away, i dont no whats best. My friend has offered to have her, she lives in a flat on her own so will be nice and quiet ect or to leave her with another friend who looks after wild hedgehogs but has kids and animals ect so will be a more noisey household. also im concerned about her being handled as i dont want her to get stressed out and cause harm to her self but will leaving her for 2 weeks without handling put me and her back to stage 1 when i return!!! mmm its such a worry, just want my little girl to be ok.

I think maybe having your hedgie stay with your friend who is quiet; you can review with her what needs to be done and she can monitor things without causing your hedgie stress. I would be concerned that the noisy household with the children could cause the stress reaction of self harm. This is just IMHO.

Good luck and enjoy your time off.
