Hi there,
I am asking $100 for her. If you would still like her then you can have her whenever you want. Her name is Pickle, no, she doesn't have any health issues. She is on a good diet. She eats hedgehog food from King Ed's Pet Store, she loves it. I have only had her for about 2 months because my sister gave her to me because she moved to Alberta and she didn't think she would make the journey. So when she had her she was feeding her cat food and she didn't really like it. So since being on this food she is eating alot now.
I just can't care for her anymore with a baby due within the next 2 weeks. I would love it if she could go to a loving home that would give her alot of attention because right now I try to give her as much as I can and she still puffs up and hiss's everytime I go near her. I'm hoping that someone that has had experience handling a hedgehog can get her to stop puffing up everytime someone goes near her.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,

Hi. As per your questions. I initially purchased MISS PRICKLES (miss P) at Pet Cetra in January 09- she was 7 months old then. I got her for a few reasons... one being for my 11 year old daughter-Mistake #1. When doing research prior to getting her it mentioned that Hedgehogs were nocturnal and were awake between 8pm and 3am... well MISS P is very nocturnal and doesn't come out to play until 12am and everyone is sleeping... it is because of this that I am thinking she isn't right for us as we can't spend anytime with her at all. we try to play with her bringing her out at 8pm everynight but she just wants to sleep. She has bitten one time when we were new to her and trying to clip her nails... and only that one time... she loves bath time and is a great girl. when researching it said that Hedgies were trainable and low maintenance... which she is but I still can't get my daughter to be responsible for her messes. she eats a diet of kitten kibble, hedge hog assorted mix and treats she gets meal worms, cooked chicken and such. She is an awsome animal-- I just wish we could pay more attention to her--- that being the main reason we are hoping to find her a more suitable home. As far as I know she is healthy- we haven't taken her to a vet as we can't find a local vet who will see her..I hope this answers all your questions.

Oh little poky friend of mine
Your little eyes ceaselessly shine
Oh the puppy will moan and pine as you
Great him with a prickly spine
You hiss and huff and puff puff puff
You maybe shy but now you’ve had enough
Its time to go no more play
That’s enough for today!

It all comes down to: Are you nocturnal or have experience with hedgies? Pick one then you have your answer.

The one named Pickle seems to be the most in need of a home... her diet sucks and it is going to end up killing her if she's not corrected ASAP... JMO!

I agree with Jo, though some hedgehog foods are *ok* for short term, I see poor hedgies that come in with nothing but skin and bones, having been "a great eater!" of things like Pretty Pets.
The second one, I think, needs education more than rescue.

I agree with everyone else too you should try to save the one that is in the most need.
but you also have to be happy with your pick is there a way you can meet both of them and see which one you like the best.
