I think hedgies are very empathic and your hedgie knows something is "wrong". As you heal, things will return to normal. The same thing happened last year when I had major surgery (removal of two tumors behind my thyroid near the base of my tongue and yes, I could not speak for 3 weeks).

I hope you are healing nicely and please take care of yourself.
