hi all, i was wondering if hedgehog's eat less as they get older or something. my year and a bit old hedgie used to eat 2 table spoons of catfood mix a night and now he doesn't even finish a whole table spoon, sometimes not even half! i can't figure it out, he seems totally fine in every other way, he poos, he runs, he drinks, he is very calm and happy with me, just like always. i haven't noticed a much of weight difference bt then again i do see him everyday so maybe i wouldn't. b
a few weeks ago i bought him some mealworms for the first time and went a little overboard on feeding him them (i'd give him 2 or 3 a night, which might be too much but i'd never seen him so excited abt food), that's when he really stopped eating the cat food mix much but i didn't worry then. he hasn't had a mealie since jan 5th so that was abt 2 weeks ago, and he still really won't eat much catfood. i've given him a tiny amount of plain yogurt twice since then, which he really goes for, just to make sure he got some protein and fat.
anyone had a hedgie do this? what's the deal? my food mix comes from a breeder and the shipment i got was in november, could it have gone stale?
