I recently noticed my little boy has a small lump under his chin. I think he is scratching this area, though I don't think excessively, but think this is a particular area he does scratch.
I have searched through the forums here as well as on other hedgehog sites, and have found everything from cancer to abscesses, to mange mites to pimples.
I'll try and get a photo, though had probelms loading photos last time, but will give it another go. He's also incredibly wriggly and it's difficult enough to look at it, let alone photo, but I'll do my best.
It seems to be a small, dark pink lump, under the chin, towards the neck, but still on his chin.
He's eating and drinking the same as ever, and as lively as usual, so doesn't seem to be bothering him. The stuff I've read on the forums made me panic and feel I should take him to the vet, but if it's something I can sort out myself then it would save me another vet bill. Is there anything I could try putting on it?
I will try to get a photo when I get home from work, but any suggestions would be grateully received. It's no bigger than a couple of millimeters or so in width and seems a slightly darker pink than the rest of his chin.
