Some hedgies can be litter box trained and some can not. I just got a clean one I guess. The way that I trained mine is that I used cloth liners in her cage except for in her litter box where I used a pan fillled with carefresh. I also put her wheel inside of the box, because almost all hedgies will go to the bathroom while they are on their wheel. This made it so that while she was using her wheel, if she went to the bathroom, it conveinently went into the litter box. In the beginning I would watch her and when ever she tried to go to the bathroom outside of her litter box I would pick her up and put her inside of the litter box. After she was done I would give her a favorite treat and tell her that she was a good girl. Also, if I found any waste outside of her litter box in the morning I would put it inside the litter box to reinfoce the idea. She eventually got the idea. Good luck!
