Re:bath time! - 2008/01/12 23:32 I've heard of some people doing this, but there's the idea out there that the tearless baby shampoo isn't good for a hedgehog, because of some kind of drug that makes you not feel the pain when the soap stings your eye. I have no verification of this fact, but it's a theory anyway. I'd think that if it was safe enough for a baby, it'd be fine as a soap used for a hedgie *shrugs*. Sure would make for a wonderful smelling hedgehog though .

Re:bath time! - 2008/01/13 08:45 Plain water will clean up most messes just fine at bathtime and plain 100% colloidal oatmeal in packets works fine for an oatmeal bath for dry skin if you are worried about ingredients.

This link has a lot of information on chemicals in cosmetics and ranks them according to their ingredients. The baby shampoos and washes are all over the place as far as ingredients.

Personally I think it is more of a worry in humans as we tend to use more cosmetics than the hedgies do
