Dry Ears? - 2006/05/13 18:36 Ive read that this can happen and I was wondering what should I use on a hedgies ears if they're looking a little dry? Ive read many different methods of antibiotic ointments/creams and was wondering which one you all think works the best? Self proclaimed Hedgehog Addict

Re:Dry Ears? - 2006/05/13 18:44 for plain and simple dry ears, I wouldn't go with an antibiotic ointment. Try some cocoa butter or aloe gel, and rub the ears gently between your thumb and finger. Only do this if your hedgehog doesn't come in any contact with other hedgehogs though.... While losing the ears to nibbling roommates would solve the dry skin problem, it would jsut create a whole new set. :-P

Re:Dry Ears? - 2006/05/13 18:49 Thank you so much! I figured a cocoa butter or bag balm would be more effective for just typical dry ears but I just wanted to make sure.

Everyone here is so awesome! I <3 you guys!

Re:Dry Ears? - 2006/05/15 02:30 Yes, for a while I had the wandering ear fetish attacking my hedgehog room. As in, I now have multiple hedgehogs that have notches out or completely missing ears. The obsession has settled down at the moment, no new ear massacres recently. *knocks wood*
