hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/17 23:20 So Sparta won't sit still. I pick her up and instead of huffing and balling up she puts the paws out and hits the ground running. She won't take mealies out of my hand (the freeze dried ones) and refuses to sit still while in her blanket/shirt. does any one else have a hyper hedgie?

Re:hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/17 23:29 Yup I have two who are hyper.. each of my hedgies are diffrent Frank my overly active little fellow is just really curious about the world and constantly on the go. Berdine likes to find a cozy spot on me and sleep. They are sort of like people as far as the personality thing goes some are outgoing and some are cuddly or anywhere in between

Re:hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/18 08:01 Sounds like she is one of the hedgehogs that I refer to as butterfly net hedgehogs. I started this after one of the hedgehogs that I can blame Stasi for getting loose in my hedgehog room, and running around the entire room for over half an hour. Every time I would see her come out from under something and head for her, she would take off running again. She was one of the tiniest hedgehogs I had ever had, and probably THE fastest. I was on the phone with Stasi, grumbling at her about the little insane beast I got from her, and threatened to get my daughter's butterfly net to catch her. She eventually got tired, but not until significantly after I did.

Re:hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/18 11:38 lol, No need for a net but if she sees the castle I made her I won't see her until wheel time or food.

Re:hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/18 12:08 Part of it had to be environmental Becca, grin.
...Unless she's related to Traveller ...or Cotton... or Strawberry ...or Berry ...or...ahem ...ok, I guess maybe I am a little responsible.

Re:hyper hedgie? - 2008/01/18 20:12 Gonzo and Tinky are apparently just as bad. And I seem to remember something about a discussion of breeding a superrace of hedgehogs??? At least until we realized that we would need Fort Knox to contain them, and a supersonic jet to catch them if they ever DID get out...... Remember? We had one who could scale walls (200g hedgehog that could get over a 2 ft. tall solid wood door barricade), one who ran at the speed of light, and one who could escape from ANYTHING and then come and brag about it.......
