i'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal.  it's strange how allergies can just creep out of no where. i know what it's like to have to rehome an animal because of allergies. i had a cat whom i was absolutely devoted to. but unfortunately had to give up because my sister was allergic to her. it was really heartbreaking for me. although i am happy to hear that you will at least be able to keep in touch with kumquat (i love the name by the way ) i know he will always have a special place in his heart for you.
