Icky!! :P - 2008/03/29 11:52 Tweetle just recently decided he likes to sleep in his litter box! I have liners, so I think it may be because he likes to dig in the carefresh that I have. I would really rather stick with liners because I find them really easy to clean, plus his cage is in my room, so I like the design on the liners, too!

This just happened recently, and I don't want him having poop all over himself because I had to give him a bath today because I couldn't get it off with a babywipe, so if he keeps doing it I'll have to give him a bath every day which will not work!

I have a box for him to sleep in (a waffle box that is lined with fleece) and it also has some fleece strips for him to dig in which I added today...

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!

Re:Icky!! :P - 2008/03/29 13:55 My hedgie will sleep in weird places if her igloo is too warm for her. Right now I still have her heating pad on, but on the warmer days she will sleep in her tube and even her litter box! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=106956777

Re:Icky!! :P - 2008/03/30 12:45 Omelette likes to sleep in her litter box too. even though only half of her body will fit in it! but she's one stubborn little gal! i have shavings in her cage and Carefresh in the litter tray. so maybe it's just something about Carefresh? Lisa

Re:Icky!! :P - 2008/03/31 23:01 We have A paper towel lining the litter box & Ava still sleeps in there sometimes. I always wondered if she got tired from wheeling and passed out. Ava's mom!

Re:Icky!! :P - 2008/04/01 04:11 Hedgehogs LOVE to burrow in Carefresh. You may want to give Tweetle Carefresh bedding in his house instead of the liners and put NON clumping litter in his box and see how it goes. Or not, hedgies all have moods and stages just like us folks.

Re:Icky!! :P - 2008/04/04 02:17 I hear Kiki running all night and on the rare mornings when I find her sleeping under the news paper under her wheel, I think she does it because she just tuckered herself out running. I would make fun of her but I got up to go to the bathroom last night and was so exhausted i fell asleep on the couch instead of going all the way back to the bedroom. So I know how she feels.

Ha ha! He might have been cold and was sleeping in the warm Carefresh. I've seen hedgehogs roll in litter for a dust bath when they are hot or itchy or just in the mood to get dusty and dirty. Silly piggies.
