Our new boy Lychee - 2008/02/24 17:32
We got our Hedgie (Lychee) a week ago. We were a bit apprehensive of his huffing, puffing and jumping when we went to pick him up in the beginning, so we only gave him 5 mins with us out of the cage (which was probably enough while he got used to his new home). We were quite worried he wasn't happy as he was always running for sanctury, luckily I found your site and tried some of the tricks on here to get to the next level of socialization. We thought he was quite lazy but he now has a blanket he loves playing in and is so used to us he now lays he spines flat so we can stroke him. We're glad we found Hedgehog World and know that we now have access to experienced owners/breeders for any future questions!

I'm glad this site was able to help you get the most out of your new pet! Hedgehogs are wonderful pets.

congrats on your new hedgie! one of the main reasons i visit this forum is to see hedgie pictures! i'd say if you're going to attach a pic make sure it's not too large.

Sorry we and Lychee have been settling into our new homes (his cage always seemed small so now he has a palace!) .
So here's the pic I originally wanted to send from when we got him. He's become more adventurous and active in the last month (mainly due to advice on this site like making sure he get's min. 12 hrs light).
Hopefully I'll be able to get some new ones up soon if I can stop him being a blur  .

I agree that ever since I joined this forum people have been really nice and helpfull. I am so glad to be part of this site, and you probably are, too. Cute hedgie!! And I love the name Lychee!!
