litterbox training - 2008/05/07 11:36 I keep reading about litter box training. How do you go about that? I'm sure it's in the forums somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Do you put a seperate container in their cage with a different type of litter? Another question, willie hardly ever seems to ball up. When I pick him up, he's just off and running. I tried to turn him on his back to play with his feet, but he's just off and running again. I thought they balled up a lot? I have so much to learn

Re:litterbox training - 2008/05/07 12:50 First off if they don't ball up that's a good thing! That means he isn't scared of you.

To litter train put a tray with something other than what you are using as bedding and seed it with some poops. Some hedgehogs will use it some won't. Some are just naturally neater than others. I've also heard that the older they are the more likely it is that they will litter train. The younger ones don't have very good bowel control. And also they will always poop in their wheel. Always.
