Girls :-) - 2007/12/13 16:15 What's the best way to begin to introduce two female hedgehogs that you'd eventually want to live together? I've seen/heard of breeders who've done it, so I can't imagine it's a bad idea unless they absolutely cannot stand one another. Anyone have any suggestions for how long they should be introduced to one another over what kind of time period?

TIA

Re:Girls :-) - 2007/12/13 16:56 Clean the cage thoroughly so as to remove the scent of the other female as much as possible. This will help alleviate territorial behavior. Put some nice fresh bedding in, clean and rearrange the items in the cage and introduce them. Most likely they will be fine...they may ball up and pop at eachother intially but they should settle in. Occasionally you see a fight break out and some quill pulling but for the most part, females can cohabitate in peace.

Good luck

Re:Girls :-) - 2007/12/13 23:24 I didn't know if I was asking stupid questions because it seems like it may be obvious to some but I want to make sure I do the right thing when the time comes

Thank you Julie for your response!
