Browns - ZooVital Hedgehog Food - 2007/12/27 06:18 Does anyone use the brand as said in the title? What do you think of it? I read all the ingredients and it seems to be fine as compared to Nutro CAT FOOD. What are your thoughts?

Re:Browns - ZooVital Hedgehog Food - 2007/12/27 09:08 I know that a lot of people here have very strong opinions about hedgehog specialty food. I think that it doesn't have a lot of nutritional value. You should try a mixture of different cat foods. Many breeders on this site have their own mixes that you can buy.

Re:Browns - ZooVital Hedgehog Food - 2007/12/27 09:30 It depends which cat food you are comparing it to. I use a mix of about 8 different foods to get a good all around complete nutrition. The 'Hedgehog Foods' are generally mostly filler and very little nutrition.

Thank you, I know I feed my dog for example nutro and I had given my hedgehog some of it and he loved it. So I guess I will go ahead and get the nutro cat food and supplement with some of the hedgehog food just to give some treat because it does have bananas and such..

The Browns is a GREAT!! litter if you're trying to litter box train your hedgehog. It's not good for anything else, being mostly expensive filler, and the hedgehogs (I have 50+ and they all have made their opinion very clear) feel strongly that it's not for eating.
As for the bananas in it - bananas are a treat food, in moderation. Stick with the cat food, or, if you want to mix in a hedgie food, get some Spikes Delight.

They are my full time 'job'
