Mealworm mix with cat food!! - 2007/08/17 10:12 is it ok for me to mix mealies with cat food as my hedgy staple food?means everyday mealworms.she seems to enjoy mealworms.

Re:Mealworm mix with cat food!! - 2007/08/20 09:19 I occasionally mix some mealies in with Zelda's food dish. Since she doesn't get mealies every day, I figure it's okay to do this, and she is far from overweight and loves her wheel, so a nice treat every week can't hurt. Another fun thing to do for them is hide mealies in various places around the cage (in tubes, etc.) and then they have to work to find them.

A cheap toy I made that has proved lots of fun is an empty plastic lemon juice container, with an egg carton cup on the top. You can put mealies or kibble in the cup, and watch your hedgie knock it over to get the treat.
