don't waste your money on freeze dried crickets - they have the consistency and probably the taste of carefresh. None of my hedgies liked them. Canned crickets are tasty, and an extra special treat for they are like Canoli's (no wonder P-k was a fatty when she arrived for her owner had been giving her three 'canoli's' a night!). I did live crickets for awhile with Pippi, she did like them but when they started getting big in the keeper and making noise it drove me nuts! If you can't do live, go with canned. If you'd like a sample of freeze dried crickets, I'd be glad to send you some so you can find out if your hedgie will like them.
