Re:need help other breeder feel free to call me - 2008/02/11 04:30 It's considerably after you made your post, and about 5:30AM here. I'm on my way to bed. I bet Ann will be up soon since she's an early riser, so hopefully she will post here when she wakes up. Hopefully you've talked to someone already.

Re:need help other breeder feel free to call me - 2008/02/11 07:19 Kelly & Ann,
Thank you for reply as you did, I did try to call you Ann but it appears your line is busy thank you though for the info(it is saved in my phone for next time). Okay here is why I was so concerned last night and I will admit I had a major panic attack when it happen. See Heangel has been HUGE with babies for the last week and half and last night as I was making my rounds she ran up to the empty side of her cage and looked up at me and scretched her way of saying she wanted to come out and play. So I got her out and she was happily woddling her way around well then my mother in law came down and she wanted to hold her. Which as Heangel loves to be held and my mother in law is use to handling the hedgies and they were find for like 10 mintues then the phone rang and I went over to grab that and Heangel just jumped off out of my mother in laws hands (she had been been "walking" on them) and hit the carpet floor a good 5'9 inches down. And she didn't ball up she landed on her side and just laided there kicking her legs. So needless to say I was a very scare mommy I picked her up and was checking her all over and saw that she was very pink under her tail and I was scared that the fall will force her to start her labor and was worried about if the babies and her would make it or if something was wrong inside and did I need to take her to the vet? She seemed normal enough and I didn't see anything but it just really freaked me out. I held her and talked to her until about 1am and she seemes perfectly fine so I am not sure if I need to be concered or not? Also I just checked on her and no babies and she still appears to be fine and I don't see any bruising or anything that seems like I should be worried. What do you two think?

Re:need help other breeder feel free to call me - 2008/02/11 08:48 Sorry about that-phone tag r us around here sometimes

I have had non pregnant hedgies take a flying leap and be perfectly fine and I have also heard that the same has happened to breeders with hedgehogs who are near their due date and had no complications or problems.

However, there is always the potential for injury. So I guess I would be a bit worried but not overly so. Keep a closer eye on her than you normally would, but try not to panic. Call your vet and see when they are around this week in case you need them.

Re:need help other breeder feel free to call me - 2008/02/11 16:19 Ann,
Thank you I guess I was just being a worried mommy No babies but she is sleeping a lot and I haven't seen her eat anything more since the bit of yogurt last night so hopefully this is it and we will have babies soon. Her poor nipples are so engored it hurts me to see them. LOL. Will keep everyone posted.
