About breeding - 2007/04/11 16:39 i was recently interested in breeding hedgehogs-i know that it is a big decision and sometimes there are terrible things happening............ i did tons of research on breeding, the babies, what might happen, etc. but i was wondering if a pregnant hedgehog is around lots of other hedgehogs(in other cages) would they bother her? do you have to put her in a different cage-bigger or more quiet?

Re:About breeding - 2007/04/12 08:49 My pregnant girls stay in general population until about a week before they are due, when they move into solitary confinement. Hrm.... sounds like I am running a hedgie prison here.... maybe if I got a uniform, they would have a little more respect for me. Yeah right, they are hedgehogs after all......

I think it depends on the situation and the individual hedgehogs. I don't have any problem with most of my girls living together, but sometimes there are fights and fight can be streeful to a pregnant hedgehog.
