request.... - 2008/04/26 10:26 My friend told me that he thought HHW website was broken, but actually it need to be approved. I wonder if many people didn't know what's going on ,may be misunderstood and will not use this website.

I think if you can use BOLD TEXT to said that it need to be approved, it will be great!!!

and.... are there any idea to prove languages??? I mean.... like some people can't read much of English?....

well... what do you think about it?

Can you translate the registration page and approval page into Thai and post it here? Do you have the approval page in your old email when you were approved? If not we can get one for you to use as an example

Do you mean a translator? I'm not sure what you are asking.

Re:request.... - 2008/04/26 13:48 I thought Becca had done something to fix the issue we were having with the Thai characters. I thought it was working, are we still having problems displaying them? Give us details on what isn't working and we'll do our best to fix it.

I'm not sure what is available as far as translators. I'll ask Sean to look into Babblefish's capabilities to see if it can be used as a whole site translator.

Re:request.... - 2008/04/26 14:13 I can help for that. please send it all to me what you want to translate into Thai.

Kane.chaisatien@gmail.com Thanks

but I believe it doesn't fix problems.

I know it impossible to translate it in all of languages, but you should know that many really thought that the web was broken. I don't know why, I didn't have this problem because I read every single words.

I have 2 cases for you.

1. Imagine that you are a newbie to a hedgehog. Then you have many questions (or emergency) to ask because you read everything on the web but didn't understand much of it. So now you want to join the webboard as soon as possible ,then you registered but have to wait for 2 days, what would you feel?

(or wait for 1 hour and nobody answer you - it different feeling)

2. Spyware and Junk posting
I don't know how to stop people to post a junk thing. But since every one come from different places and have questions in their mind, they just post it without reading all of the 1000 topics. But for Spyware it really easy to handle it. Before posting you just have a question on the lower of the "Submit" "Preview" "Cancel" like

Please type the website name www.".......".com
or whatever questions you can think of it.

I think spyware can't answer the question.

.... I really want this website to be boom!!! (more and more). please don't skip this little tiny thing.

well...just forget it... I don't understand what I want to say too

translator is not working for other languages, trust me.... it will translate words too direct. like.....

"Skywalker" = some one who walk on the sky

or "Sweet heart" = the heart that taste sweet, or candy heart shape

or "Baby I love you" = I love baby

or "How to cook" = cook, how?

or "Darth Veder" = Veder who has a dark skin

oh god, trust me I watch many illegal movies from China that use computer translator. Click!!! >>> http://kane123.picturepush.com/

Re:request.... - 2008/04/26 15:09 I have played with some of the translators (like babelfish, etc) and while they help give the basic idea of the text, some of the translations are WAY off. As in, did you know that in some language (Spanish maybe?) if you translate a sentence including hedgehog into the language and then back to English, you end up with a sentence about sproket wheel? Don't ask me why........

I am working on the text issue.... I have it a TINY bit fixed. I can post a FAQ translated into Thai ( http://www.hedgehogworld.com/content/view/139/40/ ) but I can't get the title to allow me to use Thai characters. *sigh* The text in the FAQ isn't perfect, apparently some of the words are broken up so th at th e word s aren t act ual ly in one pei ce. Obviously irritating, but at least it is a step in the right direction!!!!!!!

I have some ideas on how to make our site more language friendly, but since they depend on volunteers translating, it is going to be one slow step at a time.

As far as the other request, I will be discussing this with our staff team, and will see what we can do to make things more clear. Thank you for your suggestion! We are always willing to listen to suggestions from our members on how to make the site more user friendly. We will do our best to implement suggestions where we can.

Re:request.... - 2008/04/26 21:36 for that article, I'll re-translate it.

do you use Window or OSX??? I think what you missed is just Thai fonts, or if you use Window, may be you need to install Thai window. umm....IDK
