Cavy Cage for baby? - 2008/05/06 15:31 Hello,
I'm preparing for my first hedgehog and am currently debating cage options. I've been reading about CC cages, but I'm nervous about the size holes for a baby. Should I hold off on a CC until my babe is full grown? Does anyone have any insightful experience with escaped/stuck hedge's?

Thanks
Carolyn

Re:Cavy Cage for baby? - 2008/05/06 15:34 I have a typical looking small animal cage but for traveling I bought a sterilite container. I love them! They are so cheap and I haven't had any escaping problems yet because Peanut can't climb the sides. I know that they can push things over and use them to get out but she hasn't yet. I wish I had known how much I liked them before I bought my big cage. Becky

Re:Cavy Cage for baby? - 2008/05/07 16:02 If you're going to go with a C & C cage, just use the mesh type grids instead of the regular ones. Like the ones shown here: http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/9561
You can buy them at the same places you buy the other storage cubes, and cost pretty much the same.

Re:Cavy Cage for baby? - 2008/05/07 21:22 We did have some trouble with Ava escaping when we first got her and we have a CC cage. We actually ziptied the spaces to make them small! Ava's mom!

About how old will they be when they are too big for cube escaping?
