happy hedgie indicators - 2008/04/21 17:08 I was wondering if people could post their feedback about possible indicators that a hedgie is a happy/content/socialized hedgie i.e. examples of behaviors that would indicate the hedgie is a happy one.

I ask this because I am just trying to assess whether Spikey and I are on the right track, bonding/socialization wise and I have read other people's questions about the same thing. Maybe if we had a 'checklist' (not literally, but maybe indicators of what to look for) to know we are on the right track.

This may not be possible but if it is I would be curious.

Thanks

Andrea

Re:happy hedgie indicators - 2008/04/21 17:12 I'm no expert, but I think that I know some stuff that hedgies do when they are happy!! Hence the HappyHedgie! Haha, just kidding.

Anyways, here is a list of things from my little knowledge about hedgies, tell me if I'm wrong or add stuff peoples!!

~Purring sounds when you hold them
~If they unball fairly quickly when you take them out
~Layed back quills when you hold them
~They dont feel stressed because of loud noises and such

umm... anybody else have anything!? Hope this helped!!

Re:happy hedgie indicators - 2008/04/21 17:13 Have you done the temperament tests?

http://www.hedgehogworld.com/content/category/4/72/42/

It will give you a good idea of where your hedgehog is right now in certain areas.

Re:happy hedgie indicators - 2008/04/22 11:00 Thank you for this information about the temperment test. I will do this with Spikey and will let you know and ask any questions that I might have as a result!
