bedding change? - 2007/08/25 01:57 hey-

so i've started using super shavings in my cage, but after seeing the huge splinters and reading a lot about mites (even though they might develop only in times of stress and have nothing to do with the bedding, i still figure having shavings might make the occurence of mites more likely?) i was thinking about switching to carefresh. However, magellan seems to like the super shavings, and i definitely havent noticed any problems with smell or splinters (i pick them all out =)) so while carefresh might be a better bedding to have, i'd rather not switch him over now if a change in bedding might cause him stress. he's already had to adjust to so many changes!

so i guess my question is, has anyone ever noticed whether a change in bedding type stresses the hedgie? food changes and cage/owner changes, and so many other changes seem to affect them, so haha they might be picky enough to be offended by a change in bedding too!

Re:bedding change? - 2007/08/25 06:48 I am not loyal to one type of bedding-sometimes I use pine, sometimes apsen and sometimes carefresh-etc. I have not had any problems. I have seen them annoint with the bedding if I switch it, but that's about it. Ann
