knitted and felted bed for Hog! - 2007/12/30 13:43 For Xmas I knitted and then felted a little bed for the Hog out of organic American grown yarn by Brown Sheep...it was actually left over from a hat I made my friend.

He carries it around, digs in it and lays in his bed all day! I have never seen my hog so happy! Anyway the pix is worth a thousand words

Re:knitted and felted bed for Hog! - 2007/12/30 17:28 That's fabulous!! What a great idea.
I'm not very 'knitknowledgable' but once you've felted it, are you left with pesky threads to watch for?

Re:knitted and felted bed for Hog! - 2007/12/30 17:34 That is adorable! I love plump hogs, makes them more beanbag-like. How do you felt something though? I've never heard of that before. Jessica

Re:knitted and felted bed for Hog! - 2007/12/30 17:49 you felt wool by washing it in really hot water...it is very forgiving and makes it really nice to claw up (if you happen to be a hedgehog!)
ps he is on a diet and has already lost a little weight. I got him obese

haha i never thought of hedgehogs as beanbags, but that makes chunky hedgies that much more adorable.

The rustling of quills sometimes sounds like a beanie baby's beans moving around . Also, Noodles fell off the bed once (poor guy never can seem to sit still ) and I swear it sounded like a beanie baby fell on the floor. He was all right, and bounced right back from it. Errr pun intended
