found great igloo - 2007/02/19 09:17 I have been searching for a medium size igloo, one that is narrower than 10-1/2 inches wide and a round top so Pippi can't climb on the flat surface as a means to get out of the tank (boy was I shocked to see her atop the pseudo wood tunnel trying to peek out). Have not been able to find an 8 inch igloo, the 7-inch ones are for really small animals and finally came across a site:

www.jefferspet.com

they had photos of two, the round bowl one would have been ideal in design but has been discontinued. I just received a 2 piece tubular one, it's 11 inches long, 7 inches wide AND IS TERRIFIC. There is room for her to get around one side in her 12 inch wide tank. Round roof, big enough doorway for a hedgie. they were so cheap that I figured I'd order two , total cost for both plus shipping was $11.93 and they came very quickly. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera so it will be a month before I can send someone a 35mm jpeg to see how great these are.

Re:found great igloo - 2007/02/19 16:23 I use those. The hedgies still climb them.

What type of "tank" are you using as a cage?

Re:found great igloo - 2007/02/20 06:51 plexiglass lizard tank. I specifically chose that over a cage or sterilite, my house is cool and I needed to be able to affix 2 lizard heater pads to the bottom. The tank is 12 inches high, any higher and I would not be able to reach down into it.

Re:found great igloo - 2007/02/20 07:12 They can be amazingly good climbers-I have a bin I use as a carrier that is 11" high and they can crawl out of it easily if there is anything to climb on inside. Ann
