Backwards Quills - 2006/05/19 03:07 I have a baby hedgehog--7 weeks. Her quills are going in the wrong direction. They're pointing from the back end towards the head. Has anyone seen anything like this and is it okay? Can anything be done? She's in the process of quilling and I'm not really sure if these are her baby quills or her adult quills. She's really grumpy right now.

Stasi and Becca were swearing they had a baby do this awhile back. Of course, it was after Becca's show and we were all very tired. Sean and I were driving home and we kept getting these weird cell phone calls about sex changing babies and other weird stuff.

Re:Backwards Quills - 2006/05/19 18:28 Listen Kelly...I'm not smokin' anything!!! The damn quills are growing backwards!! If you pet her in the direction of the quills, you'll be petting her from the tush to the head! I put her in a warm bath last night to try and help her mood--and maybe get the quills going in the right direction. Man, this is really weird!!!!

The little girl that Kelly is talking about did the exact same thing, at I believe the exact same age. Once she was finished with her quilling, her quills were perfectly normal. She went to live with Stasi, I believe her name is Lucy.

Re:Backwards Quills - 2006/05/22 08:19 I've had a couple of animals who got their next to last set of quills in backwards. They had them straighten out once they got all the way in, but when they were cutting through, it was BIZARRE. While I won't go so far as to call it normal, I don't think it's something to get extremely freaked out about. And I won't accuse you of using illegal substances either.
