Adult size? - 2007/04/22 16:14 Quentin is just about 8 weeks old now and he has gotten a decent size bigger (and rounder) than when he was 6 weeks old. I want to know what age do hedgehogs reach adult size? I have never seen an adult hedgehog before in real life (first time I've seen a hedgehog in real life was when the breeder plopped Quentin in my lap lol) and I sorta wonder and hope he will get a bit bigger.

I don't have access to a scale so I don't know his weight, but could people give me picture comparisons of their hedgehogs at 8 weeks and full grown? Or length comparisons from nose to tail?

My critter list: Dilbert (welsh terrier), Bowser R.I.P. (betta fish), Quentin (hedgehog).

Re:Adult size? - 2007/04/22 18:10 He'll keep growing off and on for his first year or so-he's not done yet.
And like humans, the adults come in all sizes.

Re:Adult size? - 2007/04/23 01:38 He'll keep growing for a while! I didn't really notice Kumquat growing, but whenever other people would see him they'd comment on how big he'd gotten! If you'd like to see a full-grown hedgehog, you're welcome to come by and visit Kumquat! He's DEFINITELY full grown.

Re:Adult size? - 2007/04/23 08:15 Hedgehogs typically reach their adult size by 6 months. They can range in size greatly. I've had petite hhs that top out around 250 grams, and big bruisers who tip the scales at 980 grams. As long as your hedgehog can ball up as an adult, the hedgie is a fine weight. Stasi
