Not using wheel - 2007/07/14 16:46 Hello All!
I am curious about exercise wheels. I purchased a whisper wheel for my "Sonto" but he does not use it. I just got him about 2 months ago ( which makes him about 10 months old now) and have been working on bonding with him. He doesn't play with toys either. Is this normal or just a product of little attention from previous owners?

Re:Not using wheel - 2007/07/14 17:22 Some will not play with toys so I would not worry too much about that. Not using the wheel is sort of unusual though. Most love them. Are you sure he is not using it-he could be just using it when you are asleep and not leaving any evidence. Ann

Re:Not using wheel - 2007/07/14 17:53 I put the wheel in his cage about 4 days ago and ever since then Sonto has been sleeping under the cage liner instead of his hammock. I wonder if he afraid of the wheel?? I try to position the wheel so I can see if he has used it, but I see no evidence.

Re:Not using wheel - 2007/07/14 18:28 Some hedgehogs take a while before they figure out and take to the wheel. Others jump right on it.

Just leave it in his cage, eventually he'll figure it out.
