Purple Hedgehog? - 2006/11/27 22:09I was seperating my moms from the older babies who are ready to be on their own, and getting the first good look at my babies since I returned from Thanksgiving break. I picked up my Monochrome by Burlington girl and had to do a double take on her color. Her quills have an almost smokey purple hue to them. It's really pretty, but I don't know how photogenic the color will be.
She's only about 6 weeks, so she still has time and her color will probabally change. I'd love it if the color stayed.
Anyway, I thought I would share.

Re:Purple Hedgehog? - 2006/11/29 20:32I got pictures, but you can't see the purple tinge. The best way to describe it is that it is sort of a grayed purple hue.

Interesting...we will have to see this hedgie soon at one of our regional meetings. She is going through quilling now, so she may quill into a normal snow. I hope not, but that's usually how it works.

Re:Purple Hedgehog? - 2007/07/14 14:51When I had some really good, strong algerian cinnacot lines, I had a few that looked like that. And so did Floyd. He was sure he had a new "violet" color lie but they pretty much settled into being A. cotties as adults. So you'll have to let us know if yours does that, too.

Re:Purple Hedgehog? - 2007/07/14 15:03She settled into a really pretty chocolate chip/ not quite a high white, with some of her colored quills having a dusty light gray/ almost purplish hue to them. She is a stunning girl and is about to go back into the breeding rotation.

Her quills are purpleish gray and in the light you can see almost purple highlights on the tips of her quills. But as she was born May 6th I don't know if her color will stay either.
