i was at the petstore today and i saw that they had a really light (apricot?) colored hedgie. i'm sure it wasnt albino, bec it was way yellowish. it took around 5 minutes or so before he unrolled. the guy let me hold him!! i was surprised to discover that their spines really aren't prickly. they're more birstly than anything!

i'm looking forward to getting my first hedgehog at the end of august from the breeder! now all i need to do is choose a color! Katherine Y

It's a natural defense because they need more protection while they are young. Kind of like how a young scorpion's poison is more potent and dangerous as opposed to an adult's. *~*Steph*~*

It isn't so much that they are less sharp as that the animal is more confident and relaxed and they are relaxing their quills more.

Believe me, I have had some angry adults (fat and pregnant, sore leg, not feeling well) that can top any baby.
