Size of wheel - 2007/08/06 17:18 What size or brand of wheel would fit into a 90 qt. Sterlite container? Any one who has a cage like this, please tell me which wheel you have. Thanks. ~Erin~

Re:Size of wheel - 2007/08/06 17:24 I don't know personally what would fit in a 90 qt sterilite since I use a marchioro cage, but I do know that your wheel MUST BE a minimum of 11 inches in diameter as any smaller can hurt your hedgies spine as he will be running in an unnatural position. I'm guessing since a lot of ppl on this forum use 90 qt sterilites and know about the size requirements for hedgies wheels, that they probably fit. If worse comes to worse, you can cut a hole in the cage's lid to fit the wheel in. Jessica

Re:Size of wheel - 2007/08/06 17:51 Max came with a sterilite bin. The wheel he had was too high. His owner cut a square hole in the top lid so the wheel could stick out - never occurred to me me this could be done and the wheel can actually go round with the top on. I'll take a photo and whenever I get that roll of film developed (hey, I'm in the dark ages here) I'll post photo. She had also drilled holes in the side for the screws to hold a special flat back bottle in place. It's quite ingenius what they did.

Re:Size of wheel - 2007/08/06 18:00 I never thought about the water bottle and how it would work in a plastic container. Can't wait to see the pic. ~Erin~

Make the hole with a soldering iron. The water bottle can be purchased at walmart.
