First hedgehog bathing experience - 2007/08/07 00:50 I gave Ms. Pickles her 1st bath this morning. I put her in the tub and rinsed her with warm water in a cup. I then put some baby shampoo in the cup with warm water and poured it all over her. I think she actually enjoyed the warm water because she only grumped at me once. She did really well for her 1st bathing experience with me. I tried the toothbrush for her feet and quills, but I think she just enjoyed the water being poured on her better. I was surprised that she didn't poop or pee the whole time I had her in the bath. How often shoud they be bathed? ~Erin~

Re:First hedgehog bathing experience - 2007/08/07 01:58 You don't want to bathe too often because hedgehogs have naturally dry skin. Sometimes a little Aveeno oatmeal bath will help.

Re:First hedgehog bathing experience - 2007/08/09 20:27 during the winter I will also squeeze some vitamin e capsules into the bath water (not vitamin e oil which will sometimes have perfumes). the capsules are made of glycerine and will eventually dissolve.
