encouraging active behavior - 2007/12/18 23:23 Does anyone have any good ideas about how I can encourage playful/active behavior from my hedgehog. Right now he's very calm which is nice but sometimes it just seems like he's bored. I know a lot of this is just his personality but I'd like to make sure that I'm giving him the opportunity to play. Right now he's three months and over the past week or two I've started hiding worms amongst his toys (which he never touches) in his floor pen. Whenever I put him in his exercise ball he just sits there until I start feeling bad for him and take him out. Other then that I'm kind of at a loss.... I just want him to be happy. Re:encouraging active behavior - 2007/12/19 07:44 Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Put some tubes out for him to play with, some cat toys, small paper bags to climb in, and the hiding the treats is a good idea too. There are those hedgehogs that are active explorers and those that are just snugglers. Sounds like Hammy is just happy being a snuggler. Julie Pierce
