If you are insisting on using newspaper I would suggest going to the newspaper and asking them for what they call End Rolls they are whats left over after printing its basically like the name states the end of a roll. It has no print or dies it is all natural recycled paper. I can pick up one for about 2 or 3 dollars and it last for a while. I however use it for my daughter who loves to draw or just about anything you might need. I have found several hundred uses for it allthough I don't use it for bedding. Using it for one hedgie you would probly be looking at enough bedding for atleast 6 months depending on how big of a roll u pick up... They come in various sizes and you could probably get them cheaper if you live in a larger town. Just a thought hope this helps!
