I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/18 01:33I would like to change our cage style for our ever growing family of hedgies currently we have the Super Pets My First Home Deluxe Cage The really big ones the measure 45.5 x 18 x 20.5 Ok these cages are a pain in the butt to keep clean and arn't really all that great in construction. I was wondering if all of you would post pictures of the cages or totes you use so maybe I can get some idea for new caging for my hedgies...

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/18 07:36We have used a bunch of different brands of cages here and I like marchioros the best. Their website is in italian but a bunch of different vendors carry them on the web if you want pictures. They are a lot sturdier than the superpets and are available in a lot of different sizes. All the sizes have top openings which makes it really easy to get wheels out to clean. The only drawback is their cost but you can sometimes find a good saleAnn Connecticut Hedgehogs

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/18 12:20There were a few sales I saw over the holidays but they are over now. Just look locally and google it online. The problem with online is sometimes your shipping costs on heavier stuff like cages can eat up any savings from a saleprice depending on the company.Ann Connecticut Hedgehogs

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/18 18:35Oh I just found a site.. We use those cages for our chinchillas I love them I didn't think about them for hedgies. I wonder if there is a way to modify them so there are ramps maybe a half split level Could you show me how your cages are set up. For ours we have leaping ledges for the chins to bounce off of.Mommy to 3 beautiful children They are my everything! Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/19 07:44We constructed a cavy cage. Pretty easy idea, and quite cheap to make. Very easy to clean with how I've set it up too! It took a bit of work to get it together but you can make it any size you want! Our guy loves the space it gives him to run around in.....

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/19 21:32See we thought about using the cavy C & C cages even got the site book marked. I was just wondering how easy is it to clean ? Also we have a few hegies what about maximizing use of floor space without cutting into my hedgies roaming room.

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/19 21:41Ava's cage is below. I find her cage very easy to clean. the coroplast bottom wipes up EXTREMELY easily.

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/20 10:43I think that the coroplast bottoms would be very easy to clean. I do not have a coroplast bottom (my bottom is made out of paper board because I could not find coroplast) because my hedgie is litter box trained and she only uses her litter box. As for my cage it is easy to clean also. When it starts to get dirty, with crumbs of food and pieces from her litter box, I just pick up the whole blanket and shake it outside. I also wash the blaket once a month or so.http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=106956777

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/20 10:59The coroplast is very easy to clean. Ours just lifts out and then we rinse it in the tub and let it dry.

Re:I would like some advice.. - 2008/01/20 15:14Thanks everyone for your input! I think we have some awesome ideas to think over. We have been looking into all sorts of caging ideas and cages. As soon as we decide which set up I will have pictures for everyone.Mommy to 3 beautiful children They are my everything!
