Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 17:40 Funkhowser and Dumpling paid a visit to my daughters preschool today and we had a great time.

They were so well behaved and put on a great show for everyone including the ever popular "tubing" trick. The kids were hysterical laughing as Dumpling tooled around with the toilet paper roll on his head.

Everyone that wanted to, got to hold a hedgie and have their picture taken so they would have a souvenir to take home. I also had a collage made for the classroom. I was so proud of my little boys putting up with all the noise and the handling by everyone.

Re:Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 17:47 Wow, that's so great !! Good for you and your hedgies!!Big question mark here..How did you get them to do that in broad daylight?!?! If you look at an earlier(today!!) post I made, I asked about hedgies playing during the day...Good for you!! Sounds like it was alot of fun, for you and the kids!!(and the hedgies)

Re:Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 18:55 Wow I'm surprised they let you do that, the pet store near hear won't let me even touch the hedgies they have because they are 'sharp' and don't want to be liable for injuries. (They also just keep them in a glass tank with no wheel and in the middle of squawking birds and won't change it for them because that way has worked in the past so why change? ) Everything is turning that way nowadays, political correctness is making everything non-fun, like all the playgrounds being rebuilt into these tiny plastic things. What fun is it if there isn't a chance of getting hurt? That's why I like hedgies. hehe Jessica

Re:Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 18:55 Oh also, Lori, I find hedgies will play with tubes in the light even more than the dark. It's their way to 'escape' the light by going into the dark tunnel. Jessica

Re:Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 20:28 Lori - I just responded to your other post... but anyways, I wouldn't worry about what time of day it is. Just keep in mind that babies sleep a lot. Check out Ham's Blog !

Re:Pierce's Pogs heads to Preschool - 2008/01/30 21:13 I have taken the hedgies to school a few times now to both elementary and preschools. The kids really love it and surprisingly, the hedgehogs seem to love it just as much. Mind you, I take my most social hogs with me.
They seem to really love all the excitement and never fail to put on a great show. I think the level of excitement and the noise keeps them wide awake and curious so they check out the toys in their corral. Also we were only there for 1/2 hour or so...they slept real soundly when we got home.
