Hedgehog Shows & Mites - 2008/01/31 17:51
I have a question I have been pondering for some time. If you take your hedgie to a show or if you mingle with other hedgie people, how do you prevent mites from spreading? Also has anyone gone to a show? They sound like fun! I'd like to go to one but Harley is my first hedgehog who DOESN'T have mites because I got him from a breeder, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Thanks!
~Sara
P.S. I am paranoid because my last hedge had the worst time fighting mites.

I've never been to a show, so I can't really tell you. I think Harley would be a good candidate for a show. He's healthy, has a great personality and he has an unique coloring.

Of course he's wonderful, YOU did a great job! Honestly I am so glad I went with you, rather than the other person even though I lost $50. It was worth it. My mom had the idea of dragging poor Harley to shows, she thinks I might meet someone single who has a hedgehog too. She got the same idea with MENSA a few years back. haha! I'd like to go to see other folk's hedgehogs. BTW: How unique is his coloring? I know NOTHING about hedgehog colors. I just think he's pretty.
for those of you who maybe confused, Emily bred Harley!

lol, Well thank you ! But I must say Millie did most of the work
Well, last time I saw him he was a Algerian Dark Grey snowflake pinto. That's not extremely rare, but it isn't commonly seen.

Use Revolution as a preventive treatment before the show.
We hop that no one would bring a hedgehogs with mites to a show, but sometimes it's hard to tell.
