I am a very new hedgehog owner who is sort of clueless about what to feed for snacks to my hedgehog, Tweetle. (I have a post about him with pictures if you want to see)

Anyways, I have a fear of all caterpillars/worms (i know, really weird) but it is serious. So the only way that I could feed him mealworms were if they were freezedried (which i heard about on another post.)

Other then that, I don't really know what to feed for other snacks. I have only had tweetle for 2 1/2 days, but I want him to maybe have some treats that I can offer because sometimes he is huffy and doesnt let me touch him.

Please reply to this with your hedgie's favorite snacks and maybe some others that you have heard of! It would be greatly appreciated!

Also, can you buy freeze-dried mealworms at the store?
I know I'm a newbie, but I'm a clueless newbie who wants to be the best hedgehog owner that I can be!!

Just not too many treats because you want him to eat his base diet too and not turn up his nose at it waiting for treats Ann

Click here to see the profile of this user 		Re:Snack Suggestions!! - 2008/02/27 01:15 i'd have to say that cooked chicken is probably my hedgies' favorite. but i also give her cat treats, and canned cat food. she won't eat crickets though for some reason... i've also given her yogurt which she loved. you can buy freeze dried mealworms from most pet stores, or you can order them online. She also really likes sweet potatoes and anoints herself with them (i just love watching her do that!) I also tried little bits of white fish last night and she liked that too! LORI, SOUTHINGTON, CT

She used to eat apples when she was a baby but now she doesn't even pay attention to them anymore. Ava's mom!
