Fruit - 2008/02/28 13:41 I was wondering, can hedgies eat too much fruit?? Hazel likes melons, so far I've just given her a few tiny peices at a time How much is too much? and is it okay for her to eat it everyday or should it be like mealworms, an occasional treat?

Thanks, Lori

Re:Fruit - 2008/02/28 14:31 fruit should be an occasional treat. you don't want to feed your hedgies too much vegetation. they need a larger amount of protein than anything else. a "few tiny pieces" is okay. just remember that hedgies have small stomaches so keep the treats to a minimum. Lisa
