Nightmares? - 2008/04/03 20:53 Well, this is more like nightly life... but...

Last night I woke up two times to Tweetle just randomly huffing and rolled up in a ball. I'm pretty sure thst there was no noise to scare him... Both times I checked on him and held him and then he was fine again, to you suppose he was having a nightmare?

I feel bad for poor Tweetle, I don't really know what's wrong!! Help please!

Re:Nightmares? - 2008/04/05 10:54 As long as you checked his cage and there is nothing there he could be hurting him self on I wouldn't worry about it too much. Tweedle is still new to your house and might not be used to the night time sounds of your home, like the heat/ac running or your neighbors car. Hedgehogs can make some odd sounds at night but that is the time they are most active.

My first hedgehog Bartleby used to snore. Then I got a second hedgehog, a little albino girl, Chloe. One he realized her cage was in the same room as his, he started SINGING at night. It was a yodel of sorts that sounded like someone was strangling ET (remember he screams in the movie?). It scared the living hell out of me. I jumped out of bed and ran to his house, certain he was dying. But no, he was sitting fat and happy in the middle of his hedge house looking at me as though I'd lost my mind.

I think your first hedgehog is a bit like your first baby. Every little sound or thing has you on your toes.

Re:Nightmares? - 2008/04/05 11:10 Ok, thanks Sara!

I do get really worried about the smallest things, but hey, what can I say, he's a prickly ball of love!!

Thanks again for the help.
