I do look at my girl's dew claw when I'm doing the rest of her nails. And have always figured that IF it started growing long, I would have to trim it. So far, I haven't had to.

Click here to see the profile of this user 		Re:Dew Claw - 2008/04/18 10:06 If you don't clip it, it will grow around it's self until the claw is shaped like a little circle and eventually push into their leg which causes pain and an infection. Stasi's right it needs trimming too. But it seems to grow much slower than the other nails, thank goodness for that. Isn't it amazing how much hedgie front paws resemble hands? I've always referred to their dew claw as their little thumbs. LOL
