bedding - 2008/04/29 05:52 Hi. We just picked our hedgehog up last week and the breeder uses corncob bedding. They suggested we put corncob the first week and the first litter change I can change to carefresh unscented that I use for other pets in my home. I am a first time hedgehog owner and I understand hedgehogs can be quite sensitive to change. Is this going to upset her?? I had just heard that corncob bedding wasn't the best choice.
Thanks

Re:bedding - 2008/04/29 09:54 A switch to Carefresh should be fine-she will adapt Ann

Re:bedding - 2008/04/29 19:27 I hear corn cob bedding can get stuck in their... um... privates? Particularly males. Is this true? I have no desire to use it just thought I had read that some where so think it's interesting if the breeder is using it. Ava's mom!

Re:bedding - 2008/04/30 04:00 Thanks. I heard that about the corncob as well and the breeder actually said they heard that too but weren't concerned. I have been happy with the carefresh so I am glad to hear it won't upset her to switch to it next litter change.
