Introducing new pet - 2008/05/09 17:17 In about 4 weeks we will be adding to our family - a kitten! Any tips for introducing the kitty & hedgie? There's actually no reason why they would ever have to interact, but I'd like to try it.

Re:Introducing new pet - 2008/05/10 03:24 just try not to let it stay together

On youtube, books they might say that it would be fine for cat and hedgehog... but I would say you shouldn't do for that (good for both cat and hedgy)

e.g. Well,,,, a cat use his paw to touch a hedgy quills.... cat gonna hurt and learn some lessons.

e.g. for some reasons, hedgehog might be stressed then hard for you to touch your hedgy.

anyway, for let them know each other is good but you have to watch it so close. That's all the way you do it.

PS : don't forget to bring us a good photos between them!!!!

Re:Introducing new pet - 2008/05/10 21:34 I agree with Kane, supervised interaction is a must. My cats don't really bother with Omelette. Although occassionally a cat paw will come in contact with hedgie quills. But almost all of the time the cat will retreat. So I think as long as there is supervision at all times, everything should be fine. Lisa
