new baby boy! help with handling! - 2008/05/11 10:05 hi everyone! it's been ages since i last posted here. anyway just this morning i got my new baby boy. 3 month old albino. his parents were albino and a salt and pepper (or chocolate? can't tell them apart).

he's sleeping as of the moment. i know that he has to settle in first and he'll be huffy and all that because he just moved. but the thing is, he's just so different from Penelope, who scored a 1.5 on the temperament test the day i got her! it's an adjustment for me to have a little spiky ball that pop and jumps at EVERYTHING! i was able to hold him for about 15 minutes today. 10 minutes of which i spent chasing him (he moves so fast!).

maybe he's one of those that just like running?

anyone had experience with a very grumpy/popping/hopping hog?

Re:new baby boy! help with handling! - 2008/05/11 19:52 At 3 months old, there is a possibility that he is quilling, which will make him more cranky and irritable.
Other than that, just love him! Keep giving him attention and he will get used to you.

Re:new baby boy! help with handling! - 2008/05/13 20:17 Lol I just got my baby boy.

Named Shadow

He's VERY huffy and puffy, and clicks alot, although I've had him for three weeks. O.o

He's getting ALOT better, but he has mites and allergic reactions his old bedding.

Im a new hedgehog owner, And my family sais I'm crazy because I have a little prickly ball as a pet....

I usually put mine in a bath to calm it down and give it some wormy's.

He's too huffy right now to eat his worms. D:

he just came back from the vet...
he deserves a good rest.

Well, good luck with your hedgie!

He's active but doesn't like being held? Then it ould be a baby quill thing like previously said. If he's fast and excited to explore that's a good thing, I promise.
