New hedgehog owner - 2008/05/12 06:18 I am a new hdgehog owner. I have hade Snowball for 2 days now she is 8 mths old. I had been reading up on hedgehogs before I got her. So I would know some what, what to expect with one. So far she is a lot of fun. I had to really get use to how she acts riight now when I picker up. The first day I was scared to do it...lol. Then yesterday I got her out twice. When I first reach in to get her all her quills go up but as soon as I have her in my hands and pick her up, they go back down.
I did get poked twice by the quills and I saw a liitle blood, so I guess they are sharper than I thought.
She also smelled my finger once a lightly bit me. It scared me a little but it was not bad.
She does love to crawl around me. Well thanks for reading this.

She didn't get used to your smell yet, so she would bite you a little bit. Don't worry about it, she just wanna know you by knowing how tasty you are

It scared me a little but it was not bad.

Umm...? You shouldn't scare her because she was scared you too.... well just try to play with her everyday-night (I sleep with my hedgehog actually-bath it first)

She does love to crawl around me.

That's great!!

Well thanks for reading this.

Kane123,

Are you saying you sleep with your hedgehog? You mean it sleeps in the bed with you?

Kane123,

LOL! I was wondering the same thing. I got this mental image of Kane and his hedgie laying in bed together with matching pjamas.
