WHEEL PROBLEM. PLEASEE HELP - 2008/05/12 18:25 Alright, so a week ago, me and my dad made a bucket wheel for my future hedgie, but forgot to measure the bin width way so after the wheel was made the base was too big to fit width way so we adjusted it. However, now, it can't be tilted forward and back and its about 3 1/2 inches off the ground, I'm thinking that will be too high for them to get up onto and I was wondering if I could have some suggestions so that they could onto it? I've been told to build like a ramp but I'd rather not unless that's the only option I have. Thanks guys.

Re:WHEEL PROBLEM. PLEASEE HELP - 2008/05/13 06:35 Do you have your hedgie yet? If not, wait and see if it is a problem or not. Some will have no problem getting on at that height.

If it is a problem, I have had a couple of hedgies who pushed their igloos over to the wheel and used them to climb on to get to their wheel (lazy hedgies )so I don't think you need a ramp-just something to give them a step up if they need it.

Re:WHEEL PROBLEM. PLEASEE HELP - 2008/05/13 11:49 I think an adult wheel crazed hedgehog will not care that your wheel is 3 1/2 inches high. Hedgehogs can climb very very very well! I promise you!

Re:WHEEL PROBLEM. PLEASEE HELP - 2008/05/13 13:48 Alright thanks guys, No, I don't have my hedgehog yet. I'm getting them in like June or July from Julie Pierce. I was thinking maybe if I can think of something plastic thats like 2 inches high, I could put it under the liner so than it would be like the whole cage would just be higher, I just have to think of WHAT ;]

But thanks again.
