huff-n-lunge at treats and sometimes kibbles - 2008/05/12 19:05
I was wondering if anybody else's hedgies do what I call the ''huff-and-lunge" when a treat is presented? Whenever I present a treat (i.e. a small piece of poached chicken or a small piece of banana...yes, that is right, banana), Spikey does something that I find silly and perplexing. He kindof huffs a la forehead quills and lunges towards the treat at the same time. I dont get it...I have never taken a treat away, so he does not need to worry about that. He always has leftover food in his bowl so I know he is not starving. It is funny to witness, actually. I dont know if he is just a really hearty eater....he seems to have a lot of enthusiasm for treats and chomps them with gusto! He is not fat and I dont do treats everyday. Is this normal?
He is a very silly hedgie but I love him. I just have to make sure my fingers move quickly when I present a treat or else
