In the forum "diseases and illnesses", a few other people posted that they are having the same problem. I think it was suggested to give the hedgie a bath and also antibiotic creme? I could be wrong....you may want to check out the other forum and read the threads on this. I think some of the hedgies with this then had spontaneous recoveries from this problem.

Keep the area as clean as you can and put a bit of bag balm on it. If it is not clearing or is worsening take her to the vet. Julie Pierce

Just take it out and do what your vet said. And...use wood or if you don't like it's smell you must choose the dog pads (for dog pee-poo) it's anti bacteria one. So it's good for hedgehog too.
