New Room - 2004/11/17 00:15 Well, since the hedgies have been in the living room for quite some time now, they are getting their own room built in the basement. The basement isn't finished up yet, so we are building a seperate room, 12ft X 12ft. We ran out of some wood, so have gotten some more to build more this weekend when my dad has more spare time. I was able to get some pictures so far, sorry about the mess, but its going to look pretty nice once finished dontchya think?

Re:New Room - 2004/11/18 01:37 hehe thanks kelly!

Im really excited, I've been waiting for a long time for a hedgie room, its coming along at a good time too. With all the new hedgies I'm going to need a space to keep everyone other than my living room.

I'll post more pictures once it comes further along, should be getting more done this weekend.

Re:New Room - 2004/11/21 14:25 Lauren: Looking good so far! Be sure to keep taking pictures each step of the way, you could then make an article or page about 'transforming old space into hedgie room' or something. I wish I had a hedgehog only room. Theyre in my bedroom, and its kind of weird cleaning up when people come to see them, and also having to air/clean constantly so my room doesnt smell like shavings

Re:New Room - 2004/11/21 18:52 Sarah: yeah I use to keep them in my room, then they didn't fit, then they were moved into the living room, now they're going to be moved into the new hedgie room!

I counted last night, there are...13 hedgehogs in my house right now and one thats getting shipped today! By the time I get him on friday though I'll be down to...10 Im pretty sure. Not this coming week but the week after, I'll be losing two more males so I'll have 8 or so.

Anyways enough of me going on and on, here are some more pictures of the hedgie room!

Lauren

Re:New Room - 2004/11/22 00:56 Looks good Lauren. If your dad only knew, he probably would have killed you. I wish I had a room that could be hedgehog only. Right now they are in the guest room and I loathe to stick them in the computer room, all that dust from the shavings.

I want to enclose my patio completely as a room but my husband says no. Foiled again by the antihedgie.

Re:New Room - 2004/11/22 02:42 Today, my dad went out and got the suspended ceiling, bad thing is, is that is cost around $320.00 Hopefully he isn't going to make me pay him for it. Then he also bought a heater that runs along one of the walls, dont remember what he said it was called, but its called something. All the walls are now up and he's working on putting both the doors in, tomorrow he'll work on the ceiling. Get more pictures tomorrow hopefully, a lot has gotten done today, much more that I thought would.

Re:New Room - 2004/12/01 08:48 K, first off congrats on the new room. I have read that Hedgehogs don't like to be with other hedgehogs and that they are solitary creatures...from the size of that room and from the way you all talk I'm thinking I was mislead. I was also under the impression that you couldn't keep the males and females together unless it was for mating and than after the babies were born if she even saw him she'd eat her babies....have I been lead WAY astray?
